Gotta Catch 'Em All: Kent Wild Animal Park Hosts Pokémon GO Lure Event

This Sunday (14th August) visitors will be able to prove that they are a Pokémon Master at Howletts Wild Animal Park, as they take part in Kent’s first visitor attraction based Pokémon GO lure event.

Lure modules will be placed on Pokéstops from 11.00am until 3.00pm, which will be located in real world locations around the popular wild animal park, enabling fans of the game to catch rare Pokémon - whilst learning about the park’s rare and endangered animals.

Managing Director, Bob O’Connor, said: "We’re delighted to be the first visitor attraction in Kent to host a Pokémon GO lure event. For trainers who enjoy Pokémon battles, we’ve got four gyms spread across the park and playersrunning short on supplies, can restock using our 12 Pokéstops."

Pokémon Trainers taking part in the lure event, will not only be able to fill their Pokédex but could also win Howletts Annual Memberships for a family of four, by uploading pictures of the Pokémon they have caught in the park, to the Howletts Facebook page.

Bob added: "Fans of the game can catch the virtual creatures which have taken up residence in the park, including Clefairy, Oddish, Growlithe and Venonat. We’re also hoping that Pikachu himself may make an appearance."

The event will take Pokémon Trainers on a journey around the 100 acre wild animal park, whihc is home to the largest herd of African elephants in the UK, western lowland gorillas, big cats, small cats, black rhino and many more endangered species. Free sporting themed activities and talks will also be taking place throughout the day, as part of the park’s Animal Athletes summer theme.
