A permanent new experience is coming to Madame Tussauds London on July 15, bringing the ever-fascinating world of Sherlock Holmes vividly to life.
Guests are invited to enter the mysterious world of Sherlock, in this Sherlock Holmes Experience, in a live walkthrough adventure - staged in the atmospheric basement of the Marylebone attraction.
Help Dr Watson find the enigmatic Sherlock in this interactive experience, fusing storytelling, theatrical sets, illusion, actors, sound effects and spectacle, whilst 'donning' the great detective’s deerstalker. Guests will be transported to some of the most famous places and moments from the popular stories, in this gripping journey – including the detective’s eclectic drawing room, along lamp lit Victorian streets, to the dark moors where the infamous ‘demon’ hound lurks and finally to an unforgettably dramatic ‘watery’ conclusion!
The Experience will be the first in Madame Tussauds’ history not to be centred on wax figures and reflects an intriguing part of the attraction’s history. Sherlock’s creator, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, was a regular visitor to Madame Tussauds. It is believed Doyle’s choice of Holmes’ address, just round the corner at 221B Baker Street, was influenced by his fascination with the attraction.
The Sherlock Homes Experience is being created in association with the internationally acclaimed and Olivier nominated creators of Alice’s Adventures Underground, Les Enfants Terribles, with regular collaborator and producer, ebp. This team will also present a separately ticketed evening show, The Game’s Afoot, which will run six nights a week from July 18 to September 30 at the attraction, for visitors aged 16+.
