Howletts & Port Lympne launch a brand new calendar of events

This year visitors can look forward to a great new programme of events at Howletts and Port Lympne Wild Animal Parks, providing families and visitors with fun days out all year!

Throughout 2014, visitors can look forward to a range of different and exciting events at Howletts and Port Lympne at weekends and throughout school holidays, including Twilight Treks and an increased programme of animal talks.  Many of the events are included within the price of Passports, Gold Passes and day tickets at no extra cost.

2014 also marks the 30th anniversary of The Aspinall Foundation which will be celebrated throughout both parks in April with a range of special animal talks and fun party games.  This summer the parks will also celebrate the first anniversary of Djala and his family’s incredible return to the wild with special events.

Bob O’Connor, Managing Director explains: “We are delighted to offer visitors an exciting new range of events this year!  We are also looking forward to celebrating the anniversaries of several important milestones for our parks and our conservation charity this year, which promises to be a very exciting time here at Port Lympne and Howletts.”

The new events launch next weekend with a fun Passport & Gold Card Holder Weekend.  Open to Passport and Gold Card Holders, as well as regular day visitors, the event promises a range of great events for all of the family.  The special events will be taking place at Port Lympne on Saturday 11th January and at Howletts on Sunday 12th January from 9.30 am – 5 pm.

The weekend will provide visitors with the unique chance to make special objects for the animals’ enrichment and then watch the animals receive them.  Enrichment helps to create a stimulating environment for the animals and to give them variety.  There will also be further enrichment displays throughout the parks, where visitors can see the special activities that keepers do with the animals.

In addition there will be a selection of Q & A sessions with animal experts, as well as special Passport and Gold Card Holder deals, including 20% off retail  and 10% off farm shop and catering purchases.  Plus every 250th Passport or Gold Card Holder through the entrance at each park will win one year’s free renewal

Plus!  Don’t miss your chance to start the New Year by signing up for this year’s 5K Fun Run at Howletts!  The perfect way to burn off those mince pies, the 5K run also raises vital funds for The Aspinall Foundation’s vital conservation projects.  This year’s run will be taking place on Sunday 22nd June 2014, celebrating one year since Djala and his family made their ground-breaking journey from Kent to Africa.  For more details and to sign-up, please contact: [email protected]

Howletts and Port Lympne are open every day of the year (excluding Christmas day).  For the latest schedule of events at the parks, please visit: http://www.aspinallfoundation.org/forthcoming-events
