Hunt for Dinosaurs this Half Term

This October half term, the Dinosaur Museum in Dorchester comes alive with the Great Dinosaur Hunt. Children explore this award winning Museum to discover the answers to the clues and solve the dinosaur mystery. The Dinosaur Museum is the perfect place for the dinosaur hunt with its exciting blend of actual fossils, skeletons, and life-size dinosaur reconstructions mixed with hands on and interactive displays.  The Great Dinosaur Hunt starts this Saturday 26 October and is on daily until Sunday 1 November.

Tim Batty, the Museum’s curator said: “The Great Dinosaur Hunt is fun for kids with special Dinosaur Explorer sheets to help them unravel the prehistoric puzzle. All those children who correctly crack the code and solve the dinosaur mystery win a dinosaur sticker. The Dinosaur Museum is a great place for the family whatever the weather.”

“Dinosaurs are perennially popular with children and the Museum’s hands on and interactives let them explore and discover more about these awesome prehistoric creatures: Build a dinosaur and enter into their world using Touch-screen displays; Feel what it was like to touch a dinosaur with the Feely Box; compare yourself to a dinosaur with the Dinosaurs and You; and find out the colours dinosaurs might have been with the Colour Box.”

“There are plenty of things to see at this family attraction. Life-size reconstructions of dinosaurs, including Deinonychus, Stegosaurus, and a young T rex, beg to be touched by little hands. In addition to this there are skeletons and skulls of various dinosaurs including Megalosaurus, Hypsilophodon, Allosaurus, Camptosaurus and Iguanodon, and a variety of other fossils.”

The Dinosaur Museum is situated in the centre of Dorchester the historic county town of Dorset. Over the year’s it has won much acclaim and recognition as a family friendly museum. It is open daily from 10am to 4pm. The Great Dinosaur Hunt starts on Saturday 26th October and ends on Sunday 1st November.
