Pirate week at the Fleet Air Arm Museum this half term

More Pirates than ever before are expected to swing their way through the rigging at the Fleet Air Arm Museum this half term, Feb 17 – 21.

To add to the fear and the fun, Cap’n Jack Sparrow lookalike and his motley crew will put on a stage show and sing-a-long and the Museum’s scurvy shipmates will teach everyone how to talk like proper Pirates.

Children are encouraged to come in fancy dress. There’ll be face painting and family activities when children will be shown how to draw a Pirate map in ‘blood’ using a quill pen and make a variety of Pirate accessories including telescopes, hats and eye patches.

In addition to the light-hearted nature of the day there will be a serious side too with representatives from the Fleet Air Arm’s anti-piracy squadron running a series of short talks on modern day piracy and the role of the Royal Navy in combating this very real international problem.

Doors open daily at 10.0am. Normal Museum admission prices apply and there is no additional cost for the activities.

Daily events may change so check website for details.
