Superheroes Have a Blast at Chatsworth Farmyard this February Half Term

6 - 21 February 2016

‘Boom, Pow, Zap’ - this half term children will have a blast at Chatsworth Farmyard and Adventure Playground with a fortnight of superhero themed fun.

Children, equipped with water shooters, will be able to spot their favourite superheroes and blast supervillians hiding out in Stand Wood from the safety of the trailer ride. Subject to weather conditions, the trailer ride will operate between 11am and 3pm every day.

There will be a ‘meet the animals’ talk at 1.30pm each day in the farmyard, giving children the chance to learn more about all their farmyard favourites including the latest arrivals - a litter of piglets from Amy the Tamworth pig. Amy, who has been a resident in the farmyard for five years, gave birth on 22 January and now has three piglets to look after!

Craft activities will run every day in the Oak barn to ensure that every young superhero has the necessary tools to save the world. Drop in sessions to make a superhero headband will run at 11-1pm and 2-4pm.

The bravest superheroes will be keen to handle the creepy crawly spiders and slithering snakes visiting the farmyard on weekdays between 1-4pm. The resident guinea pigs will be up for some cuddles too. Small animal handling sessions take place every day throughout half term.

As always, the woodland adventure playground is just idyllic as a setting for children running, jumping, sliding, swinging and bouncing, with sand and water play for the little ones too.

With the indoor picnic room, a cafe serving hot food and children’s lunch boxes and a shop on site, a trip to Chatsworth Farmyard and Adventure Playground will turn parents into superheroes too.

Chatsworth house, garden and farmyard re-open on 19 March 2016. For more information and ticketing options, visit www.chatsworth.org
