The Grand Theatre Blackpool is setting nerves on edge this February with a production of the classic thriller Dial M for Murder, featuring an all-star cast.
Starring Oliver Mellor (Coronation Street), Terri Dwyer (Hollyoaks) and Marcus Hutton (Brookside), English playwright Fredrick Knott's intense and darkly gripping play will have audiences on the edge of their seat.
Dial M for Murder has gone down in history as one of the most renowned thrillers of all time. The play was famously filmed by Alfred Hitchcock, the master of suspense, in 1954 in a testament to the play’s chilling plot.
Now talking Scarlet theatre company are touring the play nationwide, returning to The Grand’s stage following their successes with productions Murder with Love and Sherlock Holmes and the Ripper Murders in 2015.
Dial M for Murder follows ex-Tennis player Tony who is convinced that his socialite wife Sheila is having an affair. As his suspicions consume him, the audience watches in amazement at the lengths to which Tony goes in devising the perfect murder. However, things don’t quite go to plan…
Conveying the claustrophobic and intimidating atmosphere that Hitchcock captured so well, talking Scarlet’s new production is set to masterfully reclaim this tale of jealousy, betrayal, passion and murder in what is sure to be a night to remember.
