The Witchety Grub Tuck Shop Full of Creepy Crawlies.

BEWARE: Not for the faint hearted. The York Dungeon has announced the opening of its Witchety Grub Tuck Shop full of nasty surprises that could have your eyeballs rolling and stomach churning!

This half term, from October 25th to November 2nd, visitors will be greeted by the devious Master of Tricks! A few unlucky victims will be invited to sample a variety of crunchy sweets and snacks. There may be a lucky few, who will devour some taste bud tingling treats, whilst others may find themselves chomping on creepy crawlies that will make their toes curl!

The unsavoury character will be making a meal out of the Witchety Grub Tuck Shop and will be serving tooth-crunching crickets, chewy mealworms, crispy locusts and scorpion lollipops with only a subtle flavour of green apple or strawberry to disguise the taste.

And when he’s not spreading Halloween mischief, the Master of Tricks promises to regale visitors with gripping stories, scary surprises and pumpkin load of tricks and treats. Armed with his giant Wheel of Misfortune, you should be prepared for deceitful deception and bamboozlement, dares by the dozen and the occasional forfeit too.

If victims have made it that far, then there is the Dungeon to enter where you’ll meet a host of twisted characters, like the sinister barman of the Golden Fleece Pub and the divine soothsayer, along with some of history’s most notorious villains and rogues.

Helen Douglas, General Manager at The York Dungeon, said: “Everyone associates the tuck shop with school days and the treats you’d buy as a child but this is definitely not one for youngsters – especially if you find getting them to eat their greens a challenge!

“The Master of Tricks has spent a lot of time in the kitchen cooking up some sickening snacks. Visitors are going to need nerves of steel when the Master of Tricks approaches them with the Witchety Grub Tuck Shop. Nothing will make him happier than to see people retch, so stay strong!”
