'Wellies' go free to celebrate new improved boat ride at the London Dungeon

Saturday, 31 May & Sunday, 1 June 2014

To celebrate the opening of The London Dungeon’s improved, scarier and altogether darker boat ride – The Tyrant – the first fifty guests in search of scary fun who turn up wearing wellies during opening week on Saturday 31 May and Sunday 1 June will get in absolutely free.

The Tyrant takes guests on a dark journey along the black River Thames as the murderous monarch, Henry 8th condemns them to death with his wife Anne Boleyn – destination the infamous Traitors’ Gate of the Tower of London. As the voyage sets sail, the suspense begins to build and soon the high impact, special effects and edge of the seat surprises kick in. Nerves of steel will be needed to negotiate the choppy waters of treachery as the fragile boat is tossed on the river towards its thrillingly dark conclusion.

Those who do make it off the boat will disembark with legs of jelly at the great city walls of Tudor London to endure a close encounter with The Tower’s apprentice executioner. Then it’s time to take the thrill filled journey through 1000 years of London’s murky past, brought to life with talented actors and scarily funny shows featuring history’s most infamous names from Sweeney Todd to Jack the Ripper.
