Visitors at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, will not only be entranced by elephants, rhinos and lions this spring, as the winning images from the 2015 ZSL Animal Photography Prize are unveiled in a beautiful new exhibition.
Visitors to ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, from Saturday 27 February, will be able to admire the stunning shots entered into the international conservation charity’s fourth annual photography competition, in a striking display.
Attracting hundreds of entries from around the world, the winners were selected by a panel of expert judges including ZSL Honorary Conservation Fellow and television presenter Kate Humble, and renowned ornithologist Bill Oddie.
With six thought-provoking categories including “Last chance to see” and “The perfect moment”, the competition sought to inspire wonder in the animal kingdom.
A contemplative picture of a shaggy-haired grizzly bear, silhouetted against a mountain-lined horizon was the Adult Judges’ Choice winner. The mesmerising image, captured by photographer Andy Skillen, went on to beat fierce competition to take home the coveted Judges’ Choice award.
