About Norwich Castle
Situated in the heart of the city, this 900 year old Norman Castle is steeped in a fascinating history that is just waiting to be discovered within the museum it now houses. Follow the castle's history from its time as a royal palace to its transformation into a county prison and enjoy the many exhibits on display throughout, covering everything from the Viking invasions, to art and architecture, to natural history and much more! The castle Keep is still very much intact and able to be explored: visit replica prison cells, drop a penny down the over 130 ft deep well and see how this castle functioned in the 11th century under the rule of Henry I. With regular touring displays and special events often hosted throughout the year, make sure to check the website to make the most out of your experience.
