About Kingsthorpe Park & Recreation Ground
Kingsthorpe Park (aka Thornton Park) was first opened to the public in 1939, when it was still surrounded by a high stone wall, which was originally built for privacy. In 1965 this wall was reduced in height, opening up a beautiful vista for passers by. Kingsthorpe Recreation Ground has great facitilities, from bowling greens and tennis courts to football and rounders pitches, where visitors can make the most of the grounds and facilities all year round.
