About D-Day Museum
The only museum in Great Britain dedicated solely to the history of the 1944 D-Day landings in Normandy, this attraction covers all aspects of this historic event. From reconstructions of the Allied landings, to recorded memories of the men, women and children affected by the events, to portraits of real D-Day veterans, this museum gives the most thorough insight into the heroism and tragedy of this event. The centrepiece is the fantastic Overlord Embroidery, an 83 metre long tapestry comissioned to commemorate the bravery of those who took part in Operation Overlord (The Battle of Normandy).
