About Murton Park
Being home to the Derwent Valley Light Railway, the Danelaw Centre for Living History and the Yorkshire Museum of Farming, anyone visiting Murton farm will not find themselevs short of something to do. The Museum has a number of fascinating exhibition ocvering many aspets of not just local farming, from: The Women's land army, to the livestock gallery, to a number of farm animals to get up close and personal with. Trains run from the Derwent Valley Light railway on Sundays and Bank Holidays on the half mile section of track on the museum grounds. With such a huge and varied number of events often run, from Viking renactment to a focus on Bronze age Britain, make sure to check the website so as not to miss out on any of the fun.
